Private Piano Lessons with Mrs. Rachel

Nurturing Excellence through Connection & Curriculum

I believe the best musical education stems from a strong student-teacher relationship built on respect and joy. My studio combines high level teaching certifications with engaging, interactive play to help students exceed their piano goals and build lifelong confidence.

My Teaching Philosophy

  • Comprehensive Foundations: We cover the "backbones" of piano: note reading, theory, technique, rhythm, and music history.

  • Engaging Pedagogy: Lessons include interactive games, student-requested pieces, duets, and composition.

  • Certified Expertise: As a Certified RCM Piano Specialist, I integrate Royal Conservatory of Music standards alongside Faber, WunderKeys, Alfred and Pronto methods.

The Student Experience

To ensure steady progress, every student follows a structured growth plan:

  • B.E.R.N.S. Routine: Tailored home practice focusing on Body, Exercise, Rhythm, Notes, and Skills.

  • Assessments: Brief check-ins three times a year to celebrate progress in technique and theory.

  • Consistent Support: Weekly follow-up emails for parents and students, monthly themed challenges, and clear practice trackers.

  • Flexible Access: Online lessons are available for illness or by request. Independent curriculum is provided if a lesson is missed.
